This
study evaluated the
effectiveness of a low - cost and large - scale summer reading intervention that provided comprehension
lessons at the end
of the school year and stimulated home - based summer reading routines with narrative and informational books.
This EEF trial
of the
Lesson Study programme set out to robustly evaluate this intervention and is one
of the largest randomised trials to date focusing on the
effectiveness of this form
of teacher development.
