WASHINGTON — The federal government's scientific and regulatory policies are «seriously deficient» in protecting infants and children from the potentially harmful health
effects of pesticides in their diets, according to a National Research Council report.

effects can not possibly be predicted with accuracy?
We witness examples
of such devastation
in our countries such as through the use
of chemical
pesticides and even fertilizers, the deporting
of our mineral wealth by mining transnational corporations, the exploitation
of our workers, women and children and the ill -
effects of drugs, arms sales and even
of some types
of tourism.
The world's food security would be ensured even with over 9 billion people
in 2050, agricultural land area would not increase, greenhouse gas emissions would be lowered and the negative
effects of today's intensive food systems, such as nitrogen surplus and high
pesticide exposure, would be greatly reduced.
In view
of this it should avoid the use
of fertilizers,
pesticides, animal drugs and food additives that may have adverse health
effects.
However, unlike conventional agricultural practices which use large amounts
of arsenic - based herbicide, insecticide and feed formulations — organic agriculture strictly prohibits their use — as well as a wide range
of toxic
pesticides with documented negative health and environmental
effects that end up on and
in our food supply on a daily basis.
Proponents
of shade cultivation say environmental problems such as deforestation,
pesticide pollution, habitat destruction, and soil and water degradation are the side
effects of the practices employed
in sun cultivation.
The reproduction rate may be reduced by sublethal long - term
effects of synthetic
pesticides used
in conventional agriculture.
However, studies do not debate that organic foods are free
of pesticides that have known side
effects in animals and humans.
Not only that, but covering your child's delicate skin
in plastic and
pesticide filled fabrics will counteract all the good
effects of the organic bodysuit on your baby.
Years
of exposure to environmental toxins such as
pesticides, paint strippers and other chemicals could be having more subtle
effects on the way
in which genes within the sperm are tagged and used later on.
Environmental chemical exposure can be the result
of diverse conditions including: workplace conditions (where you are exposed to a high level
of chemicals on a daily basis), living near farmland (where
pesticides are sprayed), exposure to high traffic areas, or even the cumulative
effects of everyday common chemicals
in the household.
The

of Science, reveal that while factors like the health
of local bee colonies and the availability
of food sources influence the impact
of neonicotinoids, the

effects are largely negative.
