If there were a Deviled
Egg season, it would be now, when families every where are trying to figure
out how to not let those dozens of
dyed Easter
eggs go to waste.
I've experimented in using natural
dyes with generally good results, the pink, purple and yellow
dyed eggs turned
out beautifully...
And your natural
dyed eggs turned
out wonderfully!
Unlike the USA where the stores are filled with Easter baskets,
egg dye and of course Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs, China doesn't really go all
out for Easter (like the have begun doing for Halloween).
Every March, chickens everywhere work long hours cranking
out tons of
eggs just so you and I can boil,
dye, hide, and in some cases, actually eat them.
For example, the
dye from the spinach, tumeric, blueberry mix looked orange or brown, but the
eggs came
out green!
And the red cabbage
dye was purpley - pink, but the
eggs came
out blue.
Once ingredients have simmered 20 — 30 minutes (depending on desired shade), lift or strain the ingredients
out of the water and allow the water to cool to room temperature though you may wish to try keeping the ingredients in the colored water to give the
egg more texture as the
dye will become concentrated in areas where the vegetable touches the
egg.
Versus having to take them
out for other
eggs to have a turn in the
dye.
When you get your
egg out of the
dye, you will see just how cool these
eggs are.
At the red
egg and ginger party, parents hand
out red
dyed eggs to the guests, who bring gifts of money and jewelry for the infant.
Anyway, we found
out she was allergic to dairy,
eggs, all nuts, carrots (most beta - carotenes), apples, pears, rice, food
dyes, preservatives..
Granted, you may not want to eat those
eggs that have been sitting
out in the yard, but just keep some
dyed Easter
Eggs in reserve in the fridge to enjoy later.

out and then soak the
eggs in the resulting
dye.

out,
dyed eggs with ribbon secured with small straight pins, leaving a long end for tying.
Allergic reactions could be caused by the protein in beef, chicken, pork,
egg, dairy products, fish, soy, corn, wheat, and rice, as well as the included preservatives, additives,

dyes, and also had an article pulled
out of last year's Country Home about natural
dyes for Easter
eggs.
