This weekend I tested a few different recipes, including
an egg white version of my quinoa almond flour bread (still needs a bit of tweaking), but the recipe that I was most excited about was this maple quinoa granola.
I made
the egg white version.
They really should not be flat - did you make the vegan or
egg white version?
The egg white version came out kind of soft and mushy, which was kind of a relief.

This recipe for
Egg White Oats is the basic and original
version of the ultimate protein and fiber - packed breakfast!
In college, I ate a very unhealthy
version -
white rice with some soy sauce, sesame oil, a sprinkling of ground red pepper, and a fried
egg on top (over easy) along with some dried seaweed and other side dishes.
Of the 8 recipes that are not AIP, only 2 are due to non-negotiable nightshades, 1 for
eggs, 3 for the seed spice cumin, and 2 for
white rice (I had to include legit Arroz con Pollo and Puerto Rican Yellow Rice - but don't worry, I have grain - free
versions of both, too!)
The yummy dish reminds me of a collision between French toast and a lunch box ham sandwich — the traditional
version, a favorite during my childhood, is made with ham and cheese book - ended between
white bread, dipped in an
egg mixture and then pan fried or even deep fried (gasp) with raspberry preserves and powdered sugar to garnish!
I have since tried both
versions and have not noticed a significant taste or texture difference (the inclusion of an
egg white may result in a slightly firmer custard).
I also have a
White Chocolate Mousse recipe that does not have the whole
egg or yolk in it so you can opt for that
version as well.
Since capers scare me, I sauteed
white onion & yellow potato (to make a Tortilla Espanola
version), then added the
egg and tortilla.
I am from Europe and would love to try your recipes, but I do have some questions: # 1 Can I use your master recipe (the
egg white and the eggless
version) with flour mixture # 2?

EGG BEATERS WHITES * 2 cups whole milk - WATER * 1 cup sugar - SPLENDA GRANULATED SWEETENER * 1 1/4 teaspoons kosher salt - LEFT OUT * 1/2 cup hazelnuts, coarsely chopped - SAME Well, we were all loving ours but Aunt Marge wasn't so thrilled with her healthy
version.
A rich vanilla crème custard with a crispy sugary coating... ahhh, yes, the long Crème brûlée cravings have just been reawakened with the healthier oh - so - close - to - the - French
version - yet free of
eggs, dairy and
white sugar.
This
version gives an authentic taste but without the chemical
white sugar, flour or even
eggs.
I am going to make a fresh batch of my Gluten - free Buckwheat Hot Cross Buns and serve them toasted with salted organic butter and honey, and I've also got some fructose - free raw chocolate (these raw chocolate
eggs and this «
white chocolate»
version) waiting in the freezer.
* 1/2 cup organic sugar for coating the cookies before baking, plus additional 1/3 cup organic sugar (I used Wholesome Sweeteners organic, fair - trade sugar) * 1 1/2 cups organic, all - purpose flour (I used Central Milling Company organic, all purpose flour); I haven't tried it yet, but I bet you could substitute almond flour for a gluten - free
version * 3/4 cup cocoa powder (I used Dagoba organic, fair - trade cocoa powder) * 1/2 teaspoon baking soda * 1/2 cup Lyle's golden syrup * 1 large
egg white, preferably organic and free - range * 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract * 12 tablespoons (1 1/2 sticks) organic salted butter, softened * 1/3 cup dark brown sugar, packed (I used Wholesome Sweeteners organic, fair - trade dark brown sugar) * 1 bar / 3 ounces dark chocolate with mint, chopped into 1/2 inch pieces (I used Theo Peppermint Stick Dark Chocolate)
The greek yogurt won't behave like the cream cheese Lauri which is why they aren't elastic enough with your
version to hold together as a wrap — maybe if you add more
egg white to your
version they will hold together better.
So on this POWERCAKES
version of an
egg sandwich I added 3
egg white & 1
egg omelet on some kalamata olives (my addiction) some tomato, & some BABA - gaNOOCH thanks to my girl Felicia!
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar, firmly packed 1/4 Cup

Use any type of onion you like here, I've done this
version of
egg salad using yellow,
white, and in this
version I had a tiny red one on hand, so I grabbed for that.
I've been looking around at other recipes for similar sorts of bars... a lot of the vegan
versions use Lucuma powder as a substitute for
egg white — it has a slightly sweet flavour, but it's low GI and adds other vitamins and minerals.

egg cups come in a variety of colors, including pink, green, and
white, in addition to this classic
white - and - blue striped
version.
