Your buns look blotted on the top so you aren't
baking them at the proper temperature or not using a good
egg wash and the
inside of the buns looks funny.

I
baked these accordingly except that I used 1 less
egg and only 3/4 stick of butter (1 stick is about 1/2 cup) technically I used less of the wet ingredients but my brad came out really moist
inside.
Place in small (2 - inch diameter) tart shell mold and
bake in a preheated 350º oven until two - thirds cooked; brush the
insides with
egg wash and place back in oven for one minute.

inside 10) Fold the edges of dough over the filling and then sprinkle the dough with a bit of sugar 11)
Bake for about 40 - 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are soft 12) Serve warm, with a side of whipped cream or ice cream (optional)
This is what worked for me finally... whipped the
egg whites for eight minutes with 1/2 tsp of cream of tartar, slowly mixed in the softened cream cheese and protein powder,
baked it at 325 for 30 minutes, then turned the oven off but left the bread
inside to cool — turned out amazing.
Brush the entire dough with the
egg wash and line the bottom
inside edges with large butter knives to hold up the sides during
baking.
Scoop out the
insides, chop, sauté with onion and tomato, stuff it all back in top with an
egg and a sprinkle of parmesan and
bake.
However, I would suggest cooking for longer (either frying or
baking) to make sure the
egg is cooked
inside.
