The only viable alternatives for print are reflective displays

over eInk because the text is blacker.
Annotation features are far more developed and functional on tablets, than they are on

I would love a nice
eink Nook to complement these for the throw in the bag times.

flexible eInk screen technology.
The iRiver Story HD, the first ereader set for Google branding, is likely to be the
first eink reader of a similar size to offer significantly higher pixel density.
Not sure whether this will be easy once Color
eInk gets developed.
As with Sony devices that pioneered
eInk + touchscreen combo, there is a noticeable lag between finger manipulations and things happening on the screen.
It's already lost out on people who
wanted eInk and people who wanted Kindle Store access — It can't very well keep losing out on customers.
I wish they'd just put a keyboard and an option to completely disable the touchscreen on their basic
eInk model.
I still
prefer eink for pleasure reading over lcd for comfort.
