Once the pages are cleared out the
nook is a fast as any other
eink device.
The
nook simple touch is okay, though as all
eInk readers, it doesn't live up to anyone's hopes due to the lousy screen refresh time.
eInk Holdings, the company which supplies the screens found on most of the popular eReaders on the market today such as those on Kindles, Kobos and
Nooks have just released their last quarter earnings.
This is really exciting to me because I think it presents a clear way forward for the color
eink screens and I would expect that the next generation of
eink readers would all incorporate this type of screen including the Kindle and the
nook.
When I was using the
nook, I was disappointed that the notes output appeared on the
eink screen because it caused a big disconnect between the input (you typing) and the output (the letters appearing on the screen).
