of the market with regards to
electronic book pricing, in
libraries we find that has more to do with fear than trying to destroy the competition, Amazon,
of course, excepted.
While I'd guess the publisher's markup for
library use
of 25 loans
of an ebook far exceeds the single - copy price
of the same book, I'd also be curious about the capital and administrative costs
of housing and handling / shipping especially in a large multi-branch system, that don't exist for
electronic loans.
