I feel like the only way I could really truly complete the
elimination phase of the FODMAPS
diet would be to eat plain LOW FODMAP vegetables, eggs, lactose free milk, a tiny bit of low FODMAP fruit and rice for 6 weeks.
Perhaps remove them during the
elimination phase of the
diet and then reintroduce and test your tolerance at that point.
BTW I'm newly diagnosed IBS and have just decided to go onto the
elimination phase using FODMAP
diet.
A good herbal liver formula taken two to three times per day in the initial two to three weeks at the outset will ensure better
eliminations during the earliest and most important
phase of this
diet.

If you could try to limit to 1/2 cup serving at a sitting — you will be under the mannitol limit — perhaps try that for the first 2 weeks of the
elimination phase and then try to re-challenge your
diet with the sweet potatoes at that time.
If this is the case for you, you may want to give the
diet another try, with a firm commitment and focus on strictly following through on the
elimination phase of the
diet.
Ideally, the
diet consists of an
elimination phase, lasting approximately four to eight weeks, in which you strictly restrict all high - FODMAP foods from your
diet.
Nuts need to be limited — especially almonds where the cut off is 12 g / serving to keep the FODMAP load inline w / the
diet goal... on the

I would do a 2 week FODMAP
elimination diet and then go through the re-challenge
phase and assess your symptoms as you re-introduce various FODMAPs in your
diet rather than relying on the breath tests.

elimination diet... I encourage my patients to re-introduce FODMAPs back in via the re - introduction / challenge
phase as soon as possible... though I admit, I do try to get them to feel about 95 % better first — if I can!
During the Healthy You
Elimination Phase, you'll omit one item from what I call the Big Seven from your
diet each day rather than all at once.
After this
phase is complete, the slow, gentle transition to a more diverse
diet helps to preserve the newfound strength of the digestive fire and encourages the continued
elimination of any impurities stirred to the surface during the cleanse.
Great catch — it's technically not allowed in the first
phase of the
elimination diet, and I should have made note of that in this recipe.
Not only do you need to remove the allergens from your cat's
diet through an
elimination diet but you also need to make sure that your cat still gets the quality nutrition he needs during this
phase.
