Ngakoue has shown himself to be
an elite pass rusher, and it's about damn time we all put some respeck on his name!
Chubb would be an underwhelming 5th pick since I don't think he will be
an elite pass rusher in the NFL.
How could they expect Russell Wilson's alleged struggles to continue against a team without
an elite pass rusher?
For a player who projects to be a dominate 1T, he is
an ELITE pass rusher (again, in that particular group).
It's the difference between a more well rounded guy who looks like a possible above average pass rusher that can also start off doing well against the run vs a guy who looks like a possible
elite pass rusher that has some work to do against the run, but also shows the ability and traits to be good there as well.
For me, JPP is not not done but he has a significant injury history (Eli does not) and he is being paid like
an elite pass rusher which he is not.
We were paying JPP like he was
an elite pass rusher when he is nothing more than a solid run defender.
If Chubb really is that
elite pass rusher than I would have no problem with the Giants drafting him at 2.
But Chubb is the three down stud more than
an elite pass rusher.
It is just a question as to whether he ever becomes
an elite pass rusher.
This works best when a team has one or maybe two guys who are
elite pass rushers.
But based on NFL position salaries,
elite pass rushers are the most valuable players on the defense.
The problem is exacerbated by the fact our DE's can't get to the QB but are paid like they are
elite pass rushers.
Not exact matches
I've covered Jacksonville's
pass rush in an X's and O's video, and it's
elite.
On defense, a
pass rush that was supposed to be among the league's
elite has badly underachieved with just nine sacks in six games.
You only need one
elite talent at the LB level in this D. Safeties and
pass rush is far more important.

pass rusher when there are usually several, zero
elite left tackles when there are usually several, no
elite WRs whatsoever, one great outside corner.
Adding an
elite player in the secondary or
pass -
rush would be huge, especially if it was combined with a bunch of extra picks.
Point remains the same though, an
elite pass -
rushing prospect is more valuable and potentially impactful than an
elite RB prospect.
What really pushes Ray up into the
elite group in this class is how consistently successful he was as a
pass rusher throughout the whole season, not just the four games I watched.
For the most part, I thought New England handled the Jacksonville
pass rush, considering how
elite they were.
And which
elite pass -
rushing defensive end gave their free agent suitor a discount because they had an
elite quarterback?
It's an entirely logical decision and consistent with how other undersized, but
elite Edge
pass rushers have been used in key college games over the past 30 years.
