More than 350 different species of sharks can be found along the barrier reef, coral atolls, and mangrove estuaries, including
the elusive hammerhead shark, black tip shark, bull shark, nurse shark, reef shark, lemon shark, nurse shark, and the enormous whale shark, the largest fish in the world's oceans.
Common larger pelagics include oceanic white tips, manta ray, spotted eagle ray and the ever
elusive hammerhead.
The Blue Hole is home to several species of sharks, including bull sharks, Caribbean reef sharks, and
the elusive hammerhead shark.

After hearing some exciting reports of schooling
hammerhead sharks from the previous week from friends and other dive operators our visit to Nusa Luat gives us the chance to try and find these
elusive beasts.
Beyond the occasional
hammerhead shark or
elusive octopus, the Great Blue Hole is largely uninhabited.
Not only can you see
hammerheads passing, sometimes even schooling but
elusive thresher sharks are also in attendance.
