To my eye
emissive display tech - where the
pixels produce light, not a separate light source - are better at producing natural images.
They are
emissive, meaning that the
pixels in an OLED panel emit their own light.
This holds true whether we're talking about a LCD display or OLED (while we're being technical, these are «
emissive» displays — there's no backlight as the
pixels themselves are emitting the light).
