A ship which is more energy efficient burns less fuel so
emits less air pollution.

The only real climate change solutions that I have seen are to reduce carbon dioxide in the
air by having human activity
emit less of it.
The models suggested that levels of
air pollution would fall without the government having to do much as older diesel vehicles are replaced by newer ones that
emit less nitrogen dioxide.
Invest in a good water filter and
air purifier, buy nontoxic cleaners, and choose home products (paints, carpets, furniture)
less likely to
emit harmful fumes and chemicals.
The 2009 State of the Climate report gives these top indicators: humans
emitted 30 billion tons of of CO2 into the atmosphere each year from the burning of fossil fuels (oil, coal, and natural gas),
less oxygen in the
air from the burning of fossil fuels, rising fossil fuel carbon in corals, nights warming faster than days, satellites show
less of the earth's heat escaping into space, cooling of the stratosphere or upper atmosphere, warming of the troposphere or lower atmosphere, etc..
The new techniques impact far
less land surface, use and recycle brackish water, and
emit fewer
air pollutants and (plant - fertilizing) carbon dioxide every year.
The
less we drive, the
less carbon dioxide is
emitted into the
air.
Although corn ethanol as modeled here
emits marginally
less GHGs than does gasoline, the combined climate and
air quality impacts are greater than those from gasoline vehicles.
If humans indeed
emit less CO2, the plants and other photosynthesizers of the world dependent on the
air to make their food will not thank us.
This results in overheating and the need for energy guzzling, CO2
emitting air - conditioning to make them comfortable, or at least
less uncomfortable.
In comments to the last post, there was speculation (and even evidence) that the CO2
emitted by the eruption was
less than the CO2 which was not
emitted because of the curtailing of
air traffic which it caused.
We are hopeful that Mr. Trump and his campaign will take a closer look at energy efficiency as an energy resource to promote energy security so that current and future generations are
less dependent on imported fuels as well as to ensure that we all have cleaner
air to breathe since energy efficiency helps reduce the smog and global warming pollutants
emitted from fossil - fueled power plants.
What is it that you people don't get about this: If large numbers of folks reduced their
air travel by ten percent, there would be fewer flights and
less CO2
emitted by aircraft.
