With the motor running, drizzle in olive
oil and water
mixing until
emulsified.
Add the ground flax, water, sugar,
oil, vanilla, lavender, salt, nutmeg, lemon zest, and orange zest to a large bowl and
mix well with a sturdy spatula or spoon until the sugar is mostly dissolved and the mixture looks
emulsified.
If you rethink back to grade school you'll remember that water and
oil (fat) don't
mix, so you have to slowly incorporate that
oil while you vigorously whisk all of your other ingredients until they are
EMULSIFIED.
With the food processor on, add regular olive
oil and avocado
oil in a slow and steady stream and
mix until it
emulsifies and is the consistency of mayonnaise.
If it's not milky white it's s not
emulsified and may cause
oil spots in wool, so make sure it's heated up and
mixed up well!
The
oil also
emulsifies, forming mousse — a frothy
mix of hydrocarbons and water — or clumps into so - called tar balls.
Separately,
mix the
oil, lime juice, and vinegar together, then whisk in the hot water until
emulsified.
Take away: As thick and smooth as a coffee creamer,
emulsified MCT
oil mixes well in any drink of choice — hot or cold.
In a small
mixing bowl, whisk together the lemon juice, white wine vinegar, olive
oil, and garlic until
emulsified.
But the problem with MCT
oil as opposed to something that is naturally
emulsified like cream, or a non-dairy creamer, is that traditional MCT
oil requires a blender to
mix evenly.
I took the extra step of
mixing the wet ingredients in a separate bowl in order to
emulsify the
oil a bit, but really, you could just dump and stir.
