for allergies) Now that she is starting to Taper off of the Temiral P, I am noticing a little more allergy symptoms (runny nose, itchy), but don't want her to stay on a steroids.

Enalapril and recently added, VetMedin,
for CHF.
Each dog received amlodipine used to treat both heart failure and hypertension, (0.57 mg / kg b.i.d.)
for six days, followed by amlodipine (0.57 mg / kg b.i.d.) and
enalapril (0.57 mg / kg b.i.d.)
for four days.
Enalapril also increases blood flow to the kidneys, which may be helpful
for some dogs and cats that are experiencing kidney disease.
The two groups of drugs that are in most common use
for that in pets are angiotensin receptor blocking medications (ACE inhibitors, eg Fortekor ®, Lotensin ®,
Enalapril ® aka ACE - Is)(ref1, rptref2, ref3) and angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs such as telmisartan / Semintra ®).

for some heart problems - high blood pressure..
It is important to note that
enalapril is not approved
for this purpose and that the published research on
enalapril in kidney disease in dogs is limited to a couple of papers, including one that was done exclusively in samoyed dogs due to an inherited glomerulonephritis in that breed.
