Well, it is true that some people thought gramophones threatened the
end of civilization as we know it; I confess that I'm not aware of anyone having made a technical
argument that there is a «social
cost of rock and roll» but metaphorically they certainly did!
As more and more issues and
arguments are
ending up in the court room the
cost to taxpayers has risen considerably and one must appreciate the need for something to be done to rein this in.
