end load shedding and not «dumsor.»
According to the power minister, while his ministry was working towards
ending the load shedding programme, it would not be possible to curtail outages as a result of faulty transmitters or activities of criminals who steal the copper cables.

The Communications Minister Dr Omane Boamah says it is impossible for the current
load shedding to
end by next week.
The minister promised at a press conference on February 2 this year that the
load shedding will be over by the
end of December 2015.

Technically by the
end of the year,
load shedding should be over but the caveat is that barring any unforseen circumstances.
His comment follows an assurance by President Mahama that he [Donkor] will announced an
end to the
load shedding exercise.
The announcement is timely and significant as Ghanaians were eagerly looking forward to the resignation of the Power Minister Dr. Kwabena Donkor, who had repeatedly promised to resign by the
end of the year if
load shedding or «dumsor» persists.
