Student
engagement is critical to
academic success;
researchers have found that student
engagement is one
of the strongest predictors
of student outcomes and is highly correlated with
academic achievement.
The
researchers then measured these scores alongside assessments
of the teachers» positive
engagement with their students, and against end -
of - year tests measuring students»
academic growth.
Though the
researcher did not directly collect student outcome data, teachers reported that their implementation
of IDEA strategies resulted in positive outcomes for students in areas
of academic achievement,
engagement / motivation, and collaboration skills.
