In a pan (preferably non
stick) big
enough (make sure it is a big saucepan as the milk does boil and froth over a lot), add the milk and grated
carrot and cook
on medium heat till all the milk evaporates, about 15 - 20 minutes.
In the early game, this leaves you with your fists and a torch for fighting, which is effective
enough on its own, but not being able to equip a new weapon every floor or two definitely hinders the «
carrot on a
stick» approach that many of these games so heavily rely
on.
My «bean counting» is not meant as a delay tactic, but as a means of addressing what I see as an important cause of limited action, and that is that no jurisdiction has, to date, been willing to impose the types of incentives (

sticks)
on a broad
enough set of individual and corporate decisions to drive real change.
It seems to me that we tend to «beat»
enough intrinsic motivation out of our students with testing and grading now, and that
carrots and
sticks might not work very effectively if we're trying to help transform character... Instead, it seems to me that we should focus
on encouragement and self - reflection, and help students see how developing these qualities are in their short and long - term self interest.
