A few weeks back I was lucky
enough to be invited to attend a cherry immersion
event in Traverse City, Michigan with a handful of other
food bloggers and experts in the
food industry to learn everything there is to know about tart cherries — an industry I knew very little about.

enough that DS has to eat his own special

food event but having 18 more other student birthdays to deal with is too much.

enough to be co-hosting the
event with the NWEI Port Townsend Steering Committee, who has been actively organizing NWEI sustainability discussion groups for many years, most recently transforming the local
food scene with over 30 Menu for the Future discussion course groups meeting — the groups involved local farmers, business owners, community stakeholders and
food based organizations who are all working together to create a more sustainable local

We've had some success with preventing these bad spells by taking care to give him a chance to talk and show him that his ideas are heard; being careful that he gets
enough food, water, and rest; and anticipating that he's likely to spin out of control as a special
event comes to an end.
If I have time to plan an
event, I worry that my house isn't clean
enough or that
food I make may not turn out well (I'm not sure why I stress over that — because I've never really had any major disasters)... it's just not worth the anxiety.
