Dr Carolyn Dean says that non of use are getting
enough magnesium because the amount in plants isn; t what is advertised... Is this true?

Because it decreases the body's ability to absorb and process so many essentials, the consumption of soy also leads to an increased need of Vitamin B - 12, Vitamin D,
magnesium, and calcium, which are already difficult
enough to consume adequately in our modern diets.
That all said, some people have trouble absorbing
enough magnesium through foods alone due on gut health issues and, sadly, many of our foods now lack in this natural mineral
because the soil itself in which they are grown has been depleted and drained of nutrients from over-farming.
(That said, I do personally supplement with zinc and
magnesium because I don't always get
enough from my diet.)

Start them with a basic comprehensive multivitamin and mineral with
enough B complex; basic amounts of vitamin C and E; beta - carotene; trace minerals including chromium, copper, manganese, selenium and zinc; and, if possible, adequate
magnesium and calcium, which may need to be taken separately
because of their bulk.
However, while most of us aren't getting
enough magnesium from our diets, that alone won't cause you to have a
magnesium deficiency
because your kidneys will naturally regulate your levels.
Because bone meal contains as much phosphorus as calcium, I now recommend a plain calcium supplement instead of bone meal; there is
enough phosphorus and
magnesium in meat to balance it.
