It's undeniably a melodrama, but there's
enough real emotion lurking beneath the manipulative tear jerking to make the movie a worthwhile and occasionally genuinely moving experience.

Motherhood is difficult
enough without making moms feel like they can't feel very
real, human

Both Union and Burk weren't convincing
enough — Burke's lacklustre and almost bored performance made it difficult to connect with his character's motivations, while Union's quick shifts in
emotions from sad to angry to frantic made it just as hard to believe this could be a

real and proves that Alfa Romeo's «La meccanica delle emozioni» (the mechanics of
emotion) motto applies to larger bodies, too.
