age - defying sight gags, this is one film that promises to
entertain every member
of the
audience.
Now, almost 60 years later — and despite an occasional reliance on matte shots that, depending on whom you ask, either a) remind viewers
of the film's
age or b) lend it a certain nostalgic charm — it all still stands up as a highly
entertaining and wonderfully suspenseful example
of a filmmaker taking obvious pleasure in toying with his
audience.
