Monitoring and evaluation of Commonwealth
environmental water delivery will be undertaken
at the seven areas within the Murray - Darling Basin listed below.
The focus of each monitoring and evaluation plan is to determine whether Commonwealth
environmental water is achieving the outcomes expected of it
at the local and Basin scale.
This report is the product of the first year of monitoring and evaluation
at the whole of Basin - scale as part of the Commonwealth
Environmental Water Office's five - year Long Term Intervention Monitoring (LTIM) Project.
Delivering the right amount of
water to the right place,
at the right time, is generating positive results for the environment, as demonstrated by a series of scientific reports analysing the impacts of Commonwealth
environmental water use during 2014 - 15 - part of a $ 30 million investment in monitoring and evaluation projects across the Murray - Darling Basin over five years (to 2020).
Commonwealth
environmental water from Queensland made a small (4 %) contribution to flows down the Warrego River
at Toorale for around 16 days in February / March 2016.
