IHEC aims to provide researchers with a comprehensive
epigenomic analysis of healthy and abnormal cells, and the new studies constitute major strides toward that goal.
The study, Integrated Genomic and
Epigenomic Analysis of Breast Cancer Brain Metastasis, published Jan. 29, is the first of its kind to incorporate all of those avenues of inquiry in the study of this disease.
The researchers used tools of
epigenomic analysis to trace the specific epigenetic switches controlling each of thousands of genes in both mouse and human retinal cells as the cells progressed through development.
