Studies show that low fat and low carb diets with
equal calorie deficits produce exactly the same weight loss.
Most of the people got it right, the the so called experts are absolutely and completely wrong - most weight loss and exercise studies do not have
equal calorie deficits, for instance most studies comparing dieters and exercisers have the dieters cutting about 700 calories whereas the exercisers are burning 200 calories.
Finally, in Pasiakos et al. [40] participants undergoing
an equal calorie deficit and consuming the same amount of protein as those observed in Mettler et al. [29] lost three times the amount of LBM over the same time period (0.9 kg in the first two weeks of energy restriction observed by Pasiakos versus 0.3 kg observed by Mettler).
