interpretations the text itself can mediate.

equally valid.
If it's open, then it's open to anyone, and every
interpretation is
equally valid.
If every part of the painting can be optically fetched to the surface and there is no figuration to favour a particular spatial
interpretation, then there will surely be several
equally valid spatial possibilities.
