Since more than 12 miles of roads in the city are equipped with bike lanes, it may not be difficult to choose a path that is paved with these safety lanes.
The NYPD looks to be stepping up its bike safety efforts — not by ticketing speeding motorists or bikelane blockers, and not even by citing reckless cyclists, but with checkpoints for improperly equippedbikes.
