Despite a somewhat inauspicious location on the Caledonian Road just a few blocks away from Pentonville Prison, Large Glass art
gallery has quietly
established itself as one of London's most intriguing and thoughtfully curated
spaces.
This spring saw a spate of smaller, younger London commercial
galleries closing their doors — from Ibid (
established in 2004), to Limoncello (set up, after a year long programme as the project
space Associates, in 2007), and Vilma Gold (est. 2000).
Works by 63 artists and art collectives, from emerging to well -
established, are on view on four
gallery floors and in other
spaces within the museum.
Moving afterwards to Gagosian
Gallery, where she rose to be the megadealer's second - in - command, she then opened a very different
space of her own to champion a group of highly dedicated emerging and
established artists.
Gallerist Heashin Kwak is
establishing the Hanmi
Gallery to complement her project
space in Seoul, facilitating site responsive installations by alternating duos of Korean and British artists until the
space is refurbished and opens in early 2012.
