As a source of unity for contingent reality, the
human person is not
estranged from the
world, but has an innate openness to each part of it, as a portion of his own existence.
The Fall is an actual and real event; the
world and
human existence are judged to be actually and truly
estranged from their original divine ground, and consequently the process of redemption must occur in the arena of concrete time and space.
