teacher evaluations, and it went a step further, tying those
evaluations to a new compensation model designed by
teachers themselves; and in
preparation for the new Common Core - aligned tests, it held training sessions on top
of those that the state provided.
By excluding the use
of student scores on statewide mastery examinations in
teacher evaluations curriculum emphasis can return to a well - rounded experience instead
of the narrow focus
of artificial achievement in the form
of test
preparation.
In the report, the study group arrived at three separate series
of recommendations that begin with
teacher preparation at the college level, continue through
teacher retention and induction, and finish with policy ideas for
teacher evaluation.
