I'm not sure what all the weekend will entail but I do plan to spend a lot of time on my favorite
kindle reading some
books (just finished this
book 2 nights ago and I highly recommend it) and maybe
even getting up a Christmas tree.
Especially since amazon.com recently noted that they now sell more
kindle books than paperbacks (115 per 100 paperbacks),
even including paperbacks that have no
kindle version.
As a collector of Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew
books, the very small number of those
books on the
kindle (There's only ONE Hardy Boys Casefile out of 127
books in the series and no Nancy Drew Files or Nancy Drew Supermysteries available on the
Kindle) prevents me from
even thinking of buying a
Kindle.
And
even within cell phone
book clubs, people could read on tablets and dedicated e-readers like
Kindles — or read off paper.
Now if you want text - to - speech for Kindle
books you pretty much have to buy a Fire tablet or a Fire phone because none of the newer
Kindles support TTS at all, not
even the $ 289 Kindle Voyage.

Not true at all, you can buy the amazon
books which usually have the best price, but if you want to buy them somewhere else (ibooks or
even kobostore) or get them for free on project gutenberg or any other source all you have to do is to load them on an app called calibre (available for mac, linux and windows) which will automatically convert the
books into the more appropriate format and send them by email to amazon cloud which will make them appear almost imediatly in your
kindle.
You say that Amazon makes the most money and that everyone is trying to imitate them, but that is ambiguous, isn't true that they hardly make any money or
