even baked goods.
A meta - analysis (a review of a group of studies) published in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition looked at 14 clinical studies including a total of 626 adults and concluded that
whey protein powder has favorable effects on body composition (and is
even more effective when combined with resistance training).
The insulin response is
more even this way, but these longer lasting energy sources help to maintain healthy blood sugar levels while exercising thereby reducing the chance of encountering fatigue and hunger from pure
whey.
Not to mention, studies have shown collagen has a satiating effect,
even more so than
whey or casein!

What makes this protein so ideal is the act that it is
even more easily digested by the body than
whey alone.
Being a protein, collagen contributes to total protein intake, and has been proven helpful for maintaining lean muscle mass, particularly in the elderly.7, 8 In fact, collagen peptides may
even be
more effective for suppressing appetite than some other protein supplements (
whey, casein, soy) according to one recent study.9 The only drawback is that collagen is not particularly high in leucine, which is the rate limiting factor for protein synthesis of muscle tissue.
