film for his brothers to read and while hints to its plot are dropped, only later
does it manifest itself into one of the few scenes in the
film that felt not merely fresh to me but touching; briefly, we glimpse an

films go, especially with the final game where all of the loose ends comfortably fall into place.
But while «War Dogs» occupies a similar space as Adam McKay's Oscar - winning dramedy, it doesn't really have anything important to say — or rather, the important stuff feels like an afterthought compared to the dramatized
events at the center of the
film.
It's uncertain if the
film even has a firm opinion of our sitting president, for with Sawyer's reductive preachings about a stereotypical black upbringing, and actions to end a «limitless war on terror» that plainly contradict current
events, the movie is both a simplistic Obama insult and an aspirational Obama fantasy (and if you don't think it's channeling our real - life president, look no further than the Easter egg of Nicorette gum, which Sawyer keeps in his own nightstand).
A brief yet action packed little story that looks at what happens to the Chitauri weapons following the
events of AVENGERS, it's a fun little bonus, though unlike the previous Marvel One - Shots from the THOR & CAPTAIN AMERICA Blu - ray releases, it
does suffer due to the lack of Clark Gregg as agent Phil Coulson, who previously helped bridge the gap between the feature
films and the shorts.

film community.
Meanwhile, at the other end of the
film food chain, I failed to see Ned Benson's The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Him and Her, described in the catalog as an «unprecedented cinematic
event» — but I
did see Raya Martin and Cinema Scope editor and Locarno
Film Festival programmer Mark Peranson's La última película.
With so many supporting characters and rollercoaster of
events for the leads, it's unsurprising that the
film tips over two hours in length, and by the end the journey
does feel laborious.
So how
do you deal with the fact that Elise didn't survive the
events of the first
film?

Previous conversations with 10 Cloverfield Lane director Dan Trachtenberg have taught us the
events of that movie don't take place on the same exact timeline as the
events of the original
film, but there seem to be some aspects that
do cross over into the separate
films» alternate timelines.
The spy action
film's take on current
events doesn't seem to make it any better for The Guardian's Peter Bradshaw.
The Solution: The trailer
does such a good job of setting up Carrie's prom stuff, you almost feel like it's the main climactic
