Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM) is a condition characterized by
weakness of the heart
muscle (poor contractility) that
eventually leads to enlargement (dilation) of the heart chambers and complications of congestive heart failure, irregular heart rhythms (arrhythmias), and / or sudden death in affected individuals.
