So here's my question — now that
everyone is talking about the economy and
feeling the
pinch of unemployment and financial ruin, can we have an honest conversation as the church around what an economy in Christ could actually be?
At some point virtually
everyone involved in the enterprise
feels the
pinch of a misfit between yearnings and expectations that are important (and vulnerable) parts of one's personal identity, on one side, and on the other a set of unexpected, often unintelligible, frequently frustrating «givens» that appear to be important (and invulnerable?)
If
everyone (a utopian dream) did their bit AFC would
feel the
pinch eventually and perhaps revise the strategy for growing the «brands» audience.
That's ok but it does mean that my partner
feels redundant and is very supportive but I think deep down, he is
feeling the
pinch of all this and is keen for me to wean and get her in to a big girl bed so
everyone can have a more peaceful night.
Alternatively, if
everyone on universal credit ends up being fed, education ministers who hadn't budgeted for the change could
feel the
pinch.
Indigo books in Canada has been losing 20 million each quarter for the last year, Borders Books in the US went bankrupt and
everyone else is
feeling the
pinch of Amazon.
