We have known each other for
about two years, and though we agree on many basic doctrines of
Christianity, we don't agree on
everything, and we definitely do not see eye to eye on some central Christian practices like baptism, the Lord's Supper, and church attendance.
You do not understand
everything the Christian church teaches, you say, and some things that you think you do understand you do not believe, but you at least see enough in the kind of faith and life for which
Christianity stands so that you would like to do something
about it.
That's the point; you can, and people have, used
Christianity to justify just
about everything, including capital punishment, abolishing capital punishment, the murder of abortion doctors, opposing all murder, endorsing state sponsored assassination of enemies of the nation, becoming rich, giving away all your property, marriage, celibacy, hating Jews, wanting to support Jews, and a bunch of other things.
I ask a lot of questions —

about politics,
about Christianity,
about theology,
about everything.
When we realize Him to be all in all — to be the meaning and content of
everything that all creation is
about, then all the nonsensical issues that we make
Christianity about (i.e., denominations, docrinal differences, Christian culture, saving the world... the list is endless) will fade away.
