ex dividend dates for such events, no authority or procedures exists to assist owners of BTC to know when to buy, hold, and sell their coins.
Due to
ex dividend dates and the biweekly timing of investment purchases, the monthly updates are typically 2 or 3 months behind.
This involves buying stocks before
the ex dividend date and selling the stock after the ex date at about the same price, yet still being entitled to the dividend.
How on earth is
an ex dividend date the day of payment... it is usually a couple of days before the record date.
If you buy shares quoted cum dividend, i.e., before
the ex dividend date, you will receive an upcoming already - declared dividend.
It would be better to sell before
the ex dividend date and buy back on the exdividend date and you don't have to pay higher taxes on the dividend.

When I first started I found out that you can create a few different lists by using different
dividend dates (
ex, record, payable, etc) and a few more depending on fiscal or calendar years.
The
dividend pay
date is April 5, 2018 to shareholders of record on March 9, 2018 (
ex dividend March 8, 2018).
The
dividend pay
date is June 12, 2018 to shareholders of record on May 29, 2018 (
ex dividend May 25, 2018).
In the equity world, if a stock trades at 110 and is going to pay a
dividend of 10 in a few days, an option expiring after the
ex date would take the
dividend into account and would trade as if the stock were trading at 100.
In order to be entitled to the
dividend, you have to buy the stock before the
ex-
dividend date, and you can't sell the stock until after the
ex date.
As long as you own the stock by the end of day on the day before the
ex date then you will get paid the
dividend (although you won't receive the money until the payable
date).
Before this is established, an
ex -
dividend date is fixed two days prior.
