Let's just say for argument's sake that Android
tablets sold the
exact same
number as iPads (it's likely more in the direction
of 60 / 40), so the total being 2 x 26M = 52M.
On the android side, there are a
number of 7.9 ″
tablets with the same
exact resolution, usually for less.
The
exact number of Android
tablet users has always been doubted (some semantics on whether shipped or bought equals market share) but as late as July
of this year, some folks were guessing only a million or so have been sold (compared to nearly 30 millin for the iPad at the time).
Unlike the iPad, Blackberry and Android
tablet manufacturers do not control the retail sales
of their product so they are not able to give you
exact sales
numbers only what is shipped to retail outlets based on their demand.
Google has so far not given an
exact figure for the
number of Honeycomb
tablets sold, but that doesn't mean we can't deduce a rough estimate
of 3.42 million based on all
of its other published data.
