film's performers are all - around
excellent (McShane provides an anchor of subtlety to some of the shrill histrionics,
and Winstone exudes potent personal angst from simple offhanded comments like ordering calamari), but it's Kingsley's menacing
and humorous
performance, a brutal force of near poetic nature, that reveals new layers with each viewing of the
film.

and the genius direction of Lars von Trier work perfectly to make one of the best

excellent performances, a tight script
and intelligent direction, there's plenty to admire about the
film just as there's plenty to applaud its subject matter for the tenacity
and courage displayed.
She gives a natural
performance which we rarely see at such a young age
and this holds the whole
film together; which is impressive considering the other
excellent performances seen from her more experienced colleagues.
What benefits Marshland greatly, are the two
excellent central
performances from Javier Gutiérrez
and Raúl Alévaro whose very different ideologies lead to a suspicion of each other which lends the
film another level of intrigue where, as a viewer, you're left constantly wondering what the next piece of the puzzle will reveal.
From the beginning narration by a Brooklyn accented Tom Hardy to the edge of your seat finale, The Drop is an
excellent film and a wonderful final
performance from the larger than life James Gandolfini.

film moves at a fairly slow pace, meandering towards its crackerjack ending, it's never boring,
