science in the last year, this issue has a great story on the life and research of Jennifer Francis, and her atmospheric jet - stream weirding papers.
The somewhat different details of the two papers appear to have hopelessly confused many
journalists (though the Christian
Science Monitor has an
excellent article, despite a somewhat misleading headline), but both are really just telling different aspects of the same story.
Following the all - too - familiar pattern, this deeply flawed paper was heavily promoted by special interests as somehow challenging the scientific consensus that humans are altering the climate (an
