With
the exception of support characters, all of the attributes have three options — on, off, and infinite.

Waititi plays most
of this as comedy (An encounter with a large, wild pig is a decidedly unnerving
exception), and it works in that regard without overwhelming us with the
characters» idiosyncrasies (Most
of those belong to the
supporting characters, who never overstay their welcome, anyway).
You get what you expect from Wahlberg, who delivers the troubled anithero persona well enough, and the
supporting cast is full
of competent
character actors, with the
exception of a miscast Mila Kunis (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Over It) as some sort
of tough chick who is supposed to be intimidating.
The
supporting characters from Largeman's past are interchangeable, with the
exception of gravedigging stoner Mark (Peter Sarsgaard) who emerges from the pack late in the film.
It's never really explained what happened to any

characters from the first film, with the notable
exception of Rinko Kikuchi's Mako Mori who appears in a
supporting role, and fan - favourite kaiju scientists Hermann Gottlieb and Newt Geiszler (Burn Gorman and Charlie Day) who are back for round two.
With a handful
of exceptions — the 1970s - looking detectives make no sense — the
supporting characters are perfect.

of mistaken identity with the

Unfortunately, the
supporting cast isn't very interesting and I've already forgotten about most
of them with a few
