Taking your time to explore every area and
exhaust all dialogue options rewards you with a lot of background information about characters and locations, filling in the lore and references to the original two games for those that have played them.
I'm actually compelled by its characters; I genuinely enjoy the conversations and don't
exhaust the dialogue options just to unlock any possible quests or benefits.
For example, the aforementioned Mog Chothra sequence is intended to be tense and hectic, but there's really no way to fail considering you need to
exhaust the dialogue options in order for the scene to continue.

Mostly it consists of solving pretty barebones puzzles, playing little half - cocked shooter mini-games (without the shooting), and mashing through
dialogue to
exhaust talk
options.
Simply gunning through the text and
exhausting every possible
dialogue option won't always work, however.
After getting through the majority of Oxenfree's 4 - 5 hour lifespan, I found myself getting a little
exhausted with the
dialogue options and started to feel like they weren't making much of a difference.
