New York - based artist Dana Schutz caused an uproar this spring when
she exhibited Open Casket, a painting of Emmett Till, the 15 - year - old whose brutal murder sparked the civil rights movement.
While many know her only for her now - infamous work

While we might never fully know what the ethical motives were behind Lew and Lock's decision to
exhibit Dana Schutz's abstract painting of Emmitt Till's
