works from the forthcoming Gillian Wearing
exhibition, including «
Dancing in Peckham» and «Sixty Minute Silence».
Organized by Dena M. Woodall, associate curator of prints and drawings, and curatorial assistant Lauren Rosenblum, the
exhibition features 20th - century prints from the permanent collection selected by artists known for their
work in other disciplines — specifically sculpture, photography, painting, installation, and
dance.
The
work of Robert Gober has been presented in the
exhibitions «Sequence 1» (2007) at Palazzo Grassi, «Mapping the Studio» (2009 - 2011) and «
Dancing with Myself» (2018) at Punta della Dogana.

exhibitions.
Dance Theater Workshop (DTW) is pleased to announce an
exhibition of photographically based
work by Jian - Jun Zhang, Time Chapter: Chelsea, organized by Jung Lee Sanders of Art Projects International.
Throughout the run of the
exhibition, there will also be held Musical Concerts,
Dance performances, a Documentary film on the original «Armory Show» of 1913, and related
works by other artists and performers.

Recently, the artist has shown his
work in solo

exhibition at the Hayward Gallery, London (Move: Choreographing You — Art &
Dance, 2010/2011).
Whitney's
works featured in a major solo
exhibition «
Dance the Orange», at the Studio Museum in Harlem, New York, USA (2015), and he has been included in many prominent group shows such as Documenta 14 in Athens, Greece and Kassel, Germany (2017), «Nero su Bianco» at the American Academy in Rome, Italy (2015); «Outside the Lines: Black in the Abstract», Contemporary Art Museum of Houston, USA (2014); «Reinventing Abstraction: New York Painting in the 1980s», Cheim & Read, New York (2013) and «Utopia Station» at the 50th Venice Biennale (2003).
In the final
work, films of five different
dances are projected simultaneously on freestanding walls, allowing visitors to reflect upon their own movement as they traverse the
exhibition space.
The
work of Cindy Sherman was presented at Punta della Doganaon the occasion of the
exhibitions «
Dancing with Myself» (2018), «Mapping the Studio» (2009 - 2011) and at Palazzo Grassi in «Where Are We Going?»
His
works were shown at Punta della Dogana in the
exhibitions «
Dancing with Myself» (2018) and «Prima Materia» (2013 - 15) and at Palazzo Grassi in the
exhibition «Italics» (2008 - 2009) and «Where are We Going?»
Originally commissioned for the Hayward Gallery
exhibition, «Spellbound», which marked a century of cinema in Britain, Rego was inspired by the hallucinatory
dance sequences of the famous Disney film — but her
works are surely also a homage to Degas» dancers.
Their
work was exhibited at Palazzo Grassi in the
exhibition «The Illusion of Light» (2014 - 15) and at Punta della Dogana in «
Dancing with Myself» (2018).
The
exhibition concludes with the
work of Roy Lichtenstein, Tom Wesselman, Andy Warhol, Janet Taylor Pickett, and John Baldessari, who have appropriated and adapted Matisse's classic themes of the
dance, the studio, the nude, portraiture, and the goldfish bowl as varying approaches to his universal art and fame.
He is currently co-organizing the
exhibition Judson
Dance Theater: The
Work is Never Done (2018) and is
working with colleagues across the Museum on a major rehang of the collection in 2019.

exhibition featuring 70 radiant, spiritual
works that evoke an abstract vision of the natural world by Bang Hai Ja, celebrated as being among the first generation of professional artists from Korea to embrace abstract art in the modern era.

The cycle of workshops and talks is conceived in relation to the
exhibition «
Dancing with Myself» and enables to better understand the
work of dancers and choreographers through workshops, live performance and screenings.
His

exhibition «Prima Materia» (2013 - 15), «Mapping the Studio» (2009 - 11), «In Praise of Doubt» (2011 - 13), «
Dancing with Myself» (2018) and at Palazzo Grassi in the

Throughout the duration of the
exhibition, audiences can engage with the
work through meditation and observance, and by participating in a host of related programs organized by the Museum involving
dance, discussion, and community.

During the
exhibition, sixteen dancers performed excerpts from Le Roy's past solo
works by interspersing samples from his major
dances with their own personal «retrospectives» — this type of «retrospective» consisted of nonlinear narrative retellings of moments from the dancers» lives that intersected in various ways with the timeline and content of Le Roy's
work.
Urs Lüthi's solo
exhibition «Just Another
Dance», is composed mostly of new
works.
The
exhibition consists of site - specific
works created by choreographers
working for the very first time in a museum's space, and
works by visual artists for whom
dance is a means for personal reflection or communal action.
Upon entering the «Navate»
exhibition space at HangarBicocca, visitors are immediately confronted with the
work How Can We Know the Dancer from the
Dance, 2013, consisting of a circular stage and a curved white wall that slowly moves along the perimeter of the stage.

The New Museum presents an
exhibition of nine new
dance - for - camera
works created through a shared open - studio process.
While the show was framed in the context of formal
dance, for this three - part
exhibition curated by artist Jeremy Millar, which features the
work of Paul Elliman, Heather Phillipson and Rebecca Warren among others, the net is widened.
Anchoring the
exhibition is the stunning Black Mat Oriole video, an ambitious
work five years in the making, in which Kang has created an immersive narrative influenced by the flow and movement found within classical Korean poetry, calligraphy, and
dance but is firmly rooted in the contemporary landscape.
Another important
work in the
exhibition is Hangers (1961) by Simone Forti, a
work that combines minimalist sculpture,
dance, and performance art.
Goldberg is the final presentation of the Armory's 2015 season, which encompassed site - specific installations, commissions, and cross-disciplinary collaborations across a range of art forms including: FLEXN — an evolution of the Brooklyn - born street
dance flex co-directed by Peter Sellars and
