According to ArtForum, Russian intrigue continues in Ghent: «A panel that was formed to investigate a number of allegedly fake Russian avant - garde works in the exhibition «From Bosch to Tuymans: A Vital Story» at the Museum of Fine Arts Ghent in Belgium — including pieces by artists such as Kazimir Malevich and Wassily Kandinsky that were on loan from the Dieleghem Foundation, a nonprofit founded by the Brussels - based Russian businessman and art collector Igor Toporovski — was dissolved only hours after meeting, reports Simon Hewitt of the Art Newspaper.

As the youngest artist to win the grand prize at the National Fine Arts Exhibition, Qu Guangci became renowned throughout the art world for his sculpting techniques.

To date, this program has led to the acquisition of over 200 works by 75 artists from the Foundation's collection by museums including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, the High Museum of Art, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the New Orleans Museum of Art and the Ackland Museum of Art, as well as multiple major exhibitions and publications.

But first, I have to get this off my chest: in the art world post - «Beautiful Losers» (the 2005 group exhibition that helped solidify the cultural agency of «street» and «skate» as near blue chip art buzzwords), we've been flooded with a seemingly endless amount of commercial work and fine art exhibitions by the artists included therein.

The exhibition attempts to blur the distinction between art and craft that is relevant today as many fine artists adopt craft forms and techniques and craft artists produce non-functional works of art.
