Just this past year, we welcomed the addition of Ayn Foundation with a captivating
series of crosses from the iconic Austrian painter Arnulf Rainer; The International Center of Photography (ICP) at Mana
opened its gallery on our 6th floor; we launched the Mana Urban Arts Project with Shepard Fairey's largest mural to date; Mana Wine began offering interactive wine tastings and events; our Chicago location participated in the first Chicago Architecture Biennial with a presentation of Richard Meier's process and vision; during Miami Art Week, our Wynwood location hosted a blockbuster program of
exhibitions; and Mana Contemporary was named one of the Top 10 Private Museums in the U.S. by Artnet News.
But when Hans insisted, I finally said yes to an
exhibition, which turned out to be overwhelmingly successful,
opening doors to other galleries and eventually leading to a long
series of solo museum shows.
Staggered
openings in January 2014 for the remaining three
exhibitions in the
series — Painting: A Love Story, Rites of Spring, and Black in the Abstract, Part 2: Hard Edges / Soft Curves — invite audiences to re-visit the evolving
exhibition and consider abstract painting from multiple vantage points.
