Showing a continuous programme of exhibitions including contemporary paintings, works on paper, sculpture and installations, the gallery is also the largest publisher of contemporary editions and prints in Europe.

The John Moores Painting Prize winner 2014, Rose Wylie, 82 is the subject of a major new exhibition at Turner Contemporary's ground floor Sunley Gallery, where they will be exhibiting a group of paintings and works on paper.

This groundbreaking exhibition follows the artist's exploration of interlined topics, including a halting suite of works about 9/11; contemporary «history paintings» on life in America since the events of 9/11; homages to his friends, the women quilt makers of Gee's Bend, Ala.; memories of vanishing ways of life and his childhood in the the South; and evocations of human struggles for freedom.

The exhibition, the artist's first solo show of paintings in New York in six years, continues to reveal Taaffe as a philosopher of painting, offering compelling meditations on art and culture, both contemporary and historical, and visual ruminations on the interrelated families of forms and images in art, architecture, and archaeology.

The first major exhibition of Morandi's later work in America since the acclaimed 2008 retrospective at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, the show will focus primarily on the period during which he developed and refined his investigations of serial, reductive, and permutational forms and compositions — aspects that had a profound influence on twentieth - century and contemporary art and painting.

ONE OF THE MOST ANTICIPATED museum exhibitions of the season, a major survey of Kerry James Marshall «s work, primarily focused on his painting over the past 35 years, is opening at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, on April 23.

The experience informed the paintings he went on to create for his first major solo exhibition, Truth to Power, which debuted at at Tiwani Contemporary in London in 2017.

«Kerry James Marshall: Painting and Other Stuff,» the first comprehensive survey of his practice, is on view in Antwerp, Madrid, Copenhagen and Barcelona (and includes a catalog); «Look See,» his first exhibition with David Zwirner Gallery, his representative in London, opens; and he receives the Wolfgang Hahn Prize for contemporary art from the Museum Ludwig in Cologne, Germany.

His recent solo exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Native Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico (2012) and at Urban Shaman Contemporary Aboriginal Art in Winnipeg, Manitoba (2013) highlighted his most recent work — a striking series of small works on paper and panels and an impressive collection of large scale paintings on canvas — work he describes as «rooted in Indigenous abstraction and Modernist aesthetics».

Through paintings, drawings, sculptures, installations and documentation, the exhibition will trace the development of Ibrahim's practice and its enduring influence on contemporary art in the UAE.

Focusing on works from the 1980s and a period of color - saturated paintings, this is a sequel to both the 2003 retrospective at the Institute of Contemporary Art and Locks Gallery's last Andrade exhibition in 2004.

With its collection of 45,000 works spanning the period from the nineteenth century to the present day and comprising paintings, sculptures, works on paper, installations, videos and photographs, GAM provides its audience with a wealth of events ranging from major exhibitions of Italian and international artists to contemporary research dedicated to young visitors.

March Scott was represented in the European Community Contemporary Painting Exhibition (Marzotto Prize) which opened at the Whitechapel Art Gallery, London, on 7 March (closed 4 April).

The Lodge Gallery and DAVID&SCHWEITZER Contemporary, whose Ayakamay exhibition we recently covered, will be pairing up paintings by Heather Morgan and watercolor works on paper by Paul D'Agostino for the jauntily - named exhibition «Foofaraw & Spleen.»

The exhibition will feature selected paintings and works on paper, demonstrating the distinct characteristics of these exceptional artists and their significant contribution to contemporary painting.

An Exhibition of Paintings and Sculpture from the Private Collections of Members of the Executive Committee of the Contemporary Art Society (CAS) opened at the Tate Gallery on 21 March (closed 27 April).

Scott was one of 50 painters and sculptors included in British Art Today, an exhibition of contemporary British painting and sculpture organised by the San Francisco Museum of Art that opened on 13 November to coincide with San Francisco's London Week (closed 16 December).

Nicole Cherubini presentation on contemporary ceramics where paint acts as the union between disparate mediums presents painting as a verb, creating some of the most successful pieces in the exhibition, Cherubini follows suit with Apfelbaum, merging the disciplines of sculpture and painting.

FRANCIS PICABIA: OUR HEADS ARE ROUND SO OUR THOUGHTS CAN CHANGE DIRECTION Picabia was on the ground with the Dadaists in Paris, but this exhibition includes his later work, which has influenced contemporary painters — perverse figurative paintings that look like precursors to Pop Art, or pulp fiction book covers.
