This is most likely if you were looking at purchasing a business
class or
expensive economy class fare.
That's a lot of miles for a single, Business
Class, round - trip flight that's only marginally more
expensive that an
Economy Class fare during peak season.
Fare class is only relevant if you book the most
expensive Y or B
economy class fares as just discussed; all other
fares are processed after these passengers and are sorted by time of request only.
The issue with these is that these full
fare economy tickets can be very
expensive, so it's just like you're paying for business
class.
The catch to this is that only certain
class fares in
economy can be upgraded, meaning that you have to purchase the more
expensive fares in order to upgrade.
Even for the more
expensive upgrade, you can only upgrade from the three most
expensive of the 13 different basic
economy fare classes.
