We must be sensitive to the
experience of men
in other cultures and the models they use to interpet their
experience; we must avoid the theological imperialism to which preoccupation with doctrines, along with literalism
in interpretation, have often led.
First of all, it implies some superficial beliefs about the place of sexuality
in human
experience (we might regard these as being
